Words of Truth

Pastor Pastor's Thought

This week we saw the jailing of Mazher Mahmood, otherwise known as the Fake Sheik; or as The King of the Sting’. The “undercover supremo” who has been responsible for the jailing of more 230 ‘alleged villians’ has now himself been convicted of criminal activities and was sentenced to 15 months imprisonment; half of which he’ll spend behind bars.

Having worked as an undercover journalist for over 20 years, Mahmood was found guilty of conspiring to pervert the course of justice earlier this month after tampering with evidence in a case involving singer Tulisa Contostavlos, a singer and former X Factor judge.

Headlines of Mahmood’s antics include exposé of two Newcastle United directors, spot-fixing by Pakistani cricketers, supposed terrorists involved in non-existent “red mercury” plot, the Duchess of York and drugs, as well as Tulisa’s drug story.

It is ironic that Mahmood is now serving a prison sentence after getting over 250 ‘evil crooks’ put behind bars.

The Bible tells us of our enemy Satan who roams the earth like a roaring lion, seeking whom He may devour – read
1 Peter 5:8. We are are also reminded that the same enemy comes in to steal, kill and destroy – read John 10:10.

It was Author Doris Lessing who said “There is no doubt fiction makes a better job of the truth.” This is the method the serpent used in the Garden of Eden to deceive Eve.

For the days and time we have ahead, let us consider words of truth; let us have truth as our guiding rule and apply God’s Word of Truth to our lives daily.
