Leaders play a significant part in our social, cultural, political and religious sphere. Leadership can be divided into several camps. There can be good leaders and bad leaders; and there can be good leaders with good and bad policies and bad leaders with good and bad policies. Of all leaders in the 20th century Adolf Hitler has been considered to be both good and bad, but it is without doubt that the policies of Hitler have been bad, his influence has been significant but the outcome of which has been to the detriment of his victims and followers.

One of the most influential documents that Adolf Hitler had was his writings and his infamous book was banned from citation, reference or publication. However, 70 years after his death the release of his now republished book Mein Kampf has returned to German bookshops for the first time. The controversy surrounding his book is obviously wide and varied. However, the legal publication permits any writings 70 years after the death of the author, allowing removal of the copy write restrictions. As a result, the book that caused such controversy is now available to the masses.

There are at least three levels of interpretation concerning this matter; firstly there is a historical, secondly the moral, and thirdly the legal. Firstly, the book is a historical document, and therefore warrants the right to sit on the shelf of any historian or avid reader with an interest in history. Secondly, the moral maze is just because it’s legal and just because it’s historical literature doesn’t qualify its publication in light of the damage and the hurt that this may cause to victims and readers of this document. However, it is reportedly welcomed by historians and some Jewish groups alike, yet many Germans are distinctly uncomfortable with the republication.

Your mind is a power thing. When you fill it with positive thoughts, your life will start to change ~ EmilysQuotes.

There are many a thing upon which we can meditate. We can meditate on evil or we can meditate on good. The scriptures remind us that we should meditate upon the Lord, and therefore, let us this week meditate on the goodness of God and His mercies, in light of the evil of men. ‘Finally brethren…meditate on these things’ ~ Philippians 4:8
