The Bride and Groom

Pastor Pastor's Thought

Yesterday, guests including the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge attended the wedding of Pippa Middleton and James Matthews. Miss Middleton, 33, is the younger sister of the duchess and got engaged to 41-year-old Mr Matthews last year. Prince Harry, Princess Eugenie, and Roger Federer and his wife Mirka were among the guests at the church. The bride received a rousing cheer from around 100 royal fans and residents as she arrived. Families and friends gathered for this auspicious occasion will have been in awe of Pippa’s dress for this her special events.

No matter how much we may hold the future Queen in high esteem, this day was for her sister, the new bride. As Pippa experienced the trimmings for her day, it brings us in memory of Christ and His church, The Bride! Kate, Pippa’s Sister is a princess, but her Pippa is the bride who had to share her wedding day with her sister who almost eclipsed the day.

At any wedding, the focus ìs the bride and in a similar
Ilk, the focus of Jesus is also the bride which is the church. The church cannot be upstaged by the world or any other religion or even by the devil himself.

All brides look forward to that special day, when attired in their unique, pure gown they will present themselves before the one whom she will commit to forever – The Bridegroom.

Ephesians 5:25-27 tells us how much Jesus loves the church and will ‘present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.’

‘The real act of marriage takes place in the heart…it’s a choice you make on your wedding day over and over again…’ ~ Barbara De Angelis

As the ‘bride prepared for the groom’ let’s be ready, found watching and waiting, serving and doing….until he comes.
