Jesus IS Lord

Pastor Pastor's Thought

It was reported that the Head teacher of Whitehall Primary School said that in order to comply with political correctness, they have  removed the term Lord from the Christmas carol Away in a Manger. Zakia Khatun, the headteacher of Whitehall Primary School in East London, told students they were not to sing “Lord” in “Away in a Manger”.
It was made mandatory for the name Lord to be replaced with the ‘little boy Jesus’ , so that children of other faith could participate in the Nativity, without compromising their own beliefs.
This decision horrified Christian parents who responded saying that it should not be permitted, that Christ our Lord should not be taken out of Christmas, and basic Christian worship should not be altered to accommodate everyone.
Christmas signifies more than a time of celebration, but demonstrates a reminder to us that God is with us in the flesh, Emmanuel.
Removing His title from the proclamation of the Carol, also removes the essence of the carol, in the name of political correctness. Note that correct does not mean right and Jesus is the reason for the season.  Removing His name is like hosting a party where the guest of honor is not invited.
Uninvited guests seldom meet a welcome ~ AESOP
Jesus is central to the expression of God’s love to humankind, in that He was sent to earth in the form of flesh to dwell among us. He was no ordinary boy child.
It is a trustworthy statement, deserving full acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners… ~ 1 Timothy 1:15
Jesus Christ, Son of God, came to earth to die on the cross for our sins. His humble beginnings and His early life’s journey demonstrated how He impacted the lives of so many. Shepherds in the fields, Wise Men from afar, even His earthly parents.
Jesus is Lord and He is Lord of all.
During this season, let us not be carried away with the commercialisation of Christmas, whereby food, drinks and gifts become the priority. Let us remember the greatest gift given, was given by God our Father, and is Jesus Christ our Lord.
Let us boldly celebrate The Gift above all gifts, priceless, costly, enduring, precious, Jesus Christ ~ no other gift like Him.
