Happy New Year: New Opportunities

Pastor Pastor's Thought

This our first Sunday of 2019, as we enter a new year,  will include both challenges and opportunities.  Challenges, if handled correctly, can make way for opportunities, and opportunities, if handled incorrectly, can create challenges.
This year our desire is that in spite of the challenges we face, God will turn them into opportunities, through which he can be glorified.  In so saying, the foundation of these opportunities and challenges must be worked out through our need, desire, passion and willingness to pray and fast.
Proverbs 16:3 Commit your works to the Lord, and your thoughts will be established.
Prayer and fasting are not tick box, like-to-do things, but instead essential, if we are to rightly overcome our challenges and wisely grasp our opportunities.
In so doing, we must know who we are, whose we are, what we are and what we believe.  So, we go back to basics with the bible, in the doctrine of our faith.  We will reflect, recap, reinvigorate, rejoice and repeat unashamedly to all those around us as to what we believe.
Today, as part of the international Church of God program, we Declaration of Faith Sunday
Today, this week, this month, this year, let us join together in celebration of our faith, as we embrace 2019, not knowing what the future holds, but knowing who holds the future.
