Celebrating life – by Montel Gordon

Pastor Pastor's Thought

This past week saw the occurrence of two major events, the majesty her Queen turning to the ripe age of 90 in addition to the burial of Muhammed Ali which was a service comprising of many various religious leaders.
Both the Queen and Muhammed Ali have been in the public eye since they were young and have persistently been recognised and idolised. Furthermore, they both have displayed their exceptional oratory skills which is evident from the Queen’s annual Christmas speech and besides his dazzling boxing skills ‘the Louisville Lip’ was both poetical and outspoken.
Everybody has a reason for a season; the Queen’s has had to hold steady the monarchy and the country through times of hardship, sorrow and pain in her personal and public life as well as being a figure of inspiration for women across the globe. From one of her Christmas speeches the Queen stated “For Christians, as for all people of faith, reflection, meditation and prayer help us to renew ourselves in God’s love, as we strive daily to become better people”.
Muhammed Ali transcended his status as a boxer (whom many considered to be the greatest) has been a socially uplifting figure for people on a whole around the world speaking out against injustice spreading and promoting self-love and respect for others as his primary message.
In the same week that we celebrated the birthday of a great monarch and the celebrated the life of a legend, we should try embark on having a spirit like Esther.
Be deliverance and a relief for everyone and arise in times of injustice (Esther 4:14).
This week, reflect on your purpose, fulfil your destiny as we celebrate life to the glory of God.
Amen!
